In 1908 William Lawson Hepher and a friend arrived in the Boswell area, on the eastern shores of Kootenay Lake, to settle and work the land. After his death, his sister's son brought to Canada a psalter used by his uncle (or great-uncle) James in Swavesey, Cambridgeshire as a gift to his widow and family. His son Peter is now guardian of the psalter, and shared it with the rest of us recently. We scanned most of it and are converting it (using the brilliant SharpEye music OCR program) to Noteworthy Composer format in hopes that some of these psalm settings may be used by the choirs of our parish.
