Please allow me to introduce myself and provide some background.
I was born and raised in South Africa in a mining town called Springs, located just South East of Johannesburg. For most of my childhood and for most of my schooling, our family lived in Johannesburg.
In 1996, my parents, brother and I immigrated to Canada. Upon completion of high school, I moved to Kelowna and began my Bachelor of Science in nursing studies. Living and working in Interior BC and the Kelowna area was a wonderful experience. Soon though, I felt it was time to answer a call that has been with me since childhood.
In 2004, I moved to Vancouver to begin studies in seminary at the Vancouver School of Theology (VST). The summer before I moved to Vancouver I met the person who would be my future wife, Elizabeth. Elizabeth was already at VST in her second year of studies. Our studies complete, we married at St. Philips Anglican Church, in Vancouver in July 2007. Two dogs and two cats complete our family at this time.
During 2008, as Elizabeth completed her curacy and term as Assistant Priest in the Diocese of New Westminster, we relocated to Interior BC where it is our distinct privilege and pleasure to join the Diocese of Kootenay.
On Ascension Day, May 21, 2009 I was ordained into the Transitional Diaconate and I have the honour of being appointed as Deacon-in-Charge of Christ Church Creston and the congregations and worshiping communities of the East Shore which forms our parish community.
I am excited to join you in our Lord’s ministry.
Let us rejoice in our journey of faith together.
