ROUTE DESCRIPTION
10K COURSE:

Starts at Wildlife Center and winds around conservation area wetlands, enters rolling hills on pavement for 10km out and back course


HALF MARATHON COURSE:

Starts at Wildlife Center and winds around conservation area wetlands, enters rolling hills through treed areas and past home sites arriving at Kootenay River where it is flat and adjacent to the winding river for 9km and returning to Wildlife Center via the same route in reverse. A very scenic route where bald eagles, deer and other wildlife are seen.

 

 

REGISTRATION - ENTRY FEES - PACKAGES
REGISTRATION:

register online in the
Blue Heron Half Marathon 10k Registration

Late registration at the walkway in the center of Creston on Canyon Street across from 11th Avenue from noon until 4:00 PM on Saturday September 24th, 2011. No refunds of registration fees but we will be happy to mail a T-Shirt to registered participants who cannot attend the event who request it.

No Registration on Race Day so please register ahead of time.

 

ENTRY FEES:

  • Half Marathon $50 CND or US funds August 15th and earlier.
  • Half Marathon $55 CND or US September 1st and earlier
  • Half Marathon $65 CND or US late registration


  • 10K $30 CND or US funds August 15th and earlier.
  • 10K $35 CND or US September 1st and earlier.
  • 10K $40 CND or US late registration.


  • Entry fees include Blue Heron T-Shirts

  • 10K T-Shirts are short sleeve cotton available in S, M, L, XL
  • Half Marathon T-Shirts are short sleeve dry wick polyester available in S, M, L, XL
  • Please indicate your size when submitting entry fees.

 

RACE PACKAGES:

Pick up your Blue Heron Half Marathon/10K packages at the walkway in the center of Creston on Canyon Street across from 11th Avenue from noon until 4:00 PM on Saturday September 24th, 2011 or on race day at the Wildlife Center Sunday, September 25th from 7:45 AM to 8:30 AM.

 

 

FIRST AID/AID STATIONS - PARKING
FIRST AID/AID STATIONS:

The Creston Fire Department will be on site with ambulance and paramedics. Aid stations will be located approximately every 4km with water, power aid and cheering volunteers.


PARKING:

Parking is on either side of the road just north of the wild life center

 

 

CEREMONIES/AWARDS - PROCEEDS - SPONSORS
CEREMONIES/AWARDS:

Presentations will take place at the Wildlife Center finish line at 11:45 AM. Best overall Male and Female award. Awards to top three Male and Female in each age category, Under 19, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, 60+


PROCEEDS:

To Rotary projects in Honduras educating children and building vocational training schools.
